Some error messages of Plex-Earth are correlated with Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) malfunction. Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) is the infrastructure for management data and operations on Windows-based operating systems. Although this is a Windows issue, you can use some tips below to resolve its issues and ensure that Plex-Earth works properly.
Plex-Earth issues that may indicate WMI malfunction
Issues with Windows Management Instrumentation are not always stated clearly when you use Plex-Earth. You might have encountered an empty ribbon or an error message like the one below:
Other issues can cause the above situations (like the empty ribbon) or another error message might appear. To check if WMI is causing our issues, we need to check its functionality directly.
Check WMI functionality
To check if WMI works properly on your PC, you need to right-click on This PC, select Manage, and then WMI Control.
If WMI Control states that Failed to Indicate all required WMI classes, there is certainly an issue with your Windows Management Instrumentation.
WMI Troubleshooting
WMI problems are related to Windows functionality and should be addressed under your IT's supervision as they affect the total performance of your workstation. However, upon our users' feedback, we have found the below workarounds to have been of help:
1) If you are using Windows 10 or older, upgrade to Windows 11
2) Reinstallation of your current Windows version
3) Reset the WMI repository (requires IT expertise)
