Use this dialog box to change the settings of Plex.Earth.
General Tab
This tab contains the general settings Plex.Earh:
Units
Drawing Units should match the units used in your project. By default the option to issue a warning if this is not the case is selected.
Slope format defines the way in which slopes are expressed.
Object Segmentation
When exporting elements of your project to Google Earth, an approximation of Cirles and Splines will be created. These values define the number of segments used to create the approximation in each case.
Google Earth Timeouts
These settings represent the time Plex.Earth will wait for a specific Google Earth task to be completed:
Initialization specifies the time to wait until the initialization of Google Earth has been completed, when automatically opened.
Streaming specifies the time to wait until Google Earth has completed fetching data from its servers.
Capture wait specifies the time to wait until an image has been captured.
Max. delay (per point) specifies the time allowed to capture every single point, during the import of terrain data. Whenever this time span has been exceeded, the program will prompt you to close Google Earth and then the operation will be automatically resumed from the last point.
Connection Tab
The connection tab allows the user to define the proxy settings, if applicable. He may select between:
No proxy should be selected if your computer is not using a proxy.
Auto-detect proxy setting for this network can be used to automatically detect the proxy settings for your network.
Use system proxy configuration should be selected if you would like to use the proxy settings configured for your operating system.
Manual proxy configuration allows the user to explicitly specify the proxy address and credentials.
Image & Mosaic Options
This window contains all the settings that are relevant to image importing and mosaic creation.
File Settings
Image format defines the file type the imported images will be saved as. You can choose between:
BMP - Bitmap Format
GIF - Graphics Interchange Format
JPEG - Joint Photographic Experts Group
PNG - W3C Portable Network Graphics
TIFF - Tag Image File Format
Save location specifies the destination folder of the imported images. If "Drawing path" is selected the images are saved in a sub-folder inside your project but you can also select "Specific path" to send them to a different folder or "Prompt for file name" to customize their destination each time an import is made.
Name prefix defines the name that will be used when the imported images are saved. A number that reflects the order in which each image is imported is also added to the name, and this numbering can be reset to zero by selecting "Reset Numbering".
Image Overlapping
The user can set here the Horizontal and Vertical overlap between images, that will be applied when creating a mosaic. This option is useful to hide shadows, toobars and logos in most images, and should also be applied when the user would like to perform a border clip on the imported images.
More Options
These are advanced image importing options:
Always create a world file for the images captures: Saves an accompanying world file that contains georeference data for any imported image. This file can later be used to restore an image, or replace it with one of better quality.
Include camera file for the images captured: Saves a KML file with the same name as the imported image that can be used to zoom Google Earth on the exact location of each screenshot.
Clip imagery to the boundaries of the mosaic: When this option is selected the imported images will be clipped to cover the exact area that the user has specified when created a mosaic. Otherwise all imported images will be shown in whole.
Enable full operation of Map Explorer: Unlocks the advanced features of the Map Explorer, such as custom Map creation, the ability to add a Map to the existing collections and more.
Google Earth Terrain Options
These are the options related with Terrain importing:
Terrain
Enhanced precision: When this option is selected the quality of the imported data is maximized, at the cost of importing speed. Deselecting this will make the process faster but the data significantly less reliable.
Enable fully automatic capturing procedure: When selected, this option allows the automatic closing and re-opening of Google Earth, when the latter has reached its allowed limit of points per session.
Preview Marker Size
This setting defines the size of the preview marker, that is used to designate the last imported point so far.
