Ever wondered how recent the images you are importing from Bing Maps are? You can now access this information directly from the Map Explorer.
Follow the procedure below to view the approximate capture date of Bing Maps tiles at any zoom level:
1) Open the Map Explorer and click on Add Content -> Tile Server 2) In the General tab name the layer that will be created under "Title" (optional) 3) Move to the Tile Server tab and enter the following URL: http://mvexel.dev.openstreetmap.org/bingimageanalyzer/tile.php?t=[q]&nodepth= |
![]() |
A new transparent overlay will be created, which should be superimposed on the Bing Maps Aerial layer (it does not apply to any other image source). It will display the capture date (or date range) of all the tiles composing the current image, as well as the number of remaining zoom levels.
