Azure Maps (Bing) are now available to resolve this issue for good.

Workaround for older software builds (23.0):
There are times when imagery (Quick View or Mosaic) imported from Bing Maps returns blank, white images.
This occurs due to the disturbance of the connection between the internet connection and Bing's server, which can be disturbed for various reasons.
When this occurs, please try to increase the Capture Delay, to re-fetch the tiles.
There are two ways to increase the Capture Delay.
Method 1. Through Imagery Manager
Click on the "Show Imagery Manager" button from the Plex-Earth ribbon and in the Imagery Manager palette, click on the Basemaps button.
On the Basemaps window, select Bing Maps and click on the gear (settings) icon. On the next window, under the Timeouts section, type in a higher capture delay value (e.g. 15 s).
Once the capture delay is increased, import the imagery again.
Method 2. While Importing Imagery Mosaic
Click on the Import Imagery Mosaic button, from the Plex-Earth ribbon.
Before specifying the imagery cover area, select the preferred Image Provider, by clicking on the Basemap section, located at the bottom left corner of the window.
Choose Bing Maps as the imagery source and click on the settings icon beside it. On the next window, under the Timeouts section, type in a higher capture delay value (e.g. 15 s). Click "OK" and finalize by selecting Bing Maps as the imagery source.
Then, proceed on specifying the imagery cover area and complete the import mosaic procedure.
NOTES: 1. If the imagery still imports white tiles after increasing the capture delay, save and close your drawing then try to import imagery again. The imagery should then fetch properly. 2. If AutoCAD is left open for a long time after importing an image from Bing, the same disturbance may occur again. Restarting AutoCAD should resolve the issue. |
