Plex-Earth offers editing tools for satellite and aerial imagery within AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and BricsCAD, allowing users to adjust brightness, contrast, hue, saturation, and transparency, as well as create clippings and cutouts for project-specific needs.
Learn how to edit Plex-Earth imagery mosaics to enhance the images for suitable use in your projects.
After you import the imagery of your area of interest, you can proceed with utilizing our available editing tools.
Select Image to Edit
Before applying any modifications, you must identify the imagery or mosaic you wish to adjust.
-
Open the Collection Manager. Or use the command
PXV_COLLECTION_MANAGER. Navigate to the Imagery tab.
-
Locate the specific mosaic or image from your list and click the Edit (pencil) icon. This opens the Imagery Editor.
Tools for Editing the Imagery
Click on the Tools button, and the following options should appear:
Adjust Image (Brightness, Contrast, Hue, Saturation, Transparency)
In the following section, we are given the option to edit the way the image is presented by changing the brightness, contrast, hue, saturation, and transparency, and also to view the selected changes before saving them, on the right side of the preview. After making the desired adjustments, we click OK.
Brightness
Specify levels from -100 to 100 to brighten or darken theimagery
Contrast
Adjust between -100 to 100 to enhance detail.
Hue
Define color shifts (from -180 to 180)
Saturation
Adjust color intensity (from -100 to 100) for more vivid or desaturated basemaps.
With Saturation, you can define the intensity of a hue. Vivid primary colors are highly saturated, while pastel colors are unsaturated.
-100 Saturation +100 Saturation
Τransparency
Set opacity levels (0-250) to allow objects to show through
Revert To Original
Selecting the Revert to Original option clears all adjustments and reverts to the original image.
Clippings
Define a specific boundary to limit the imagery display to your exact project area. This helps focus the drawing and removes unnecessary data from the view.
To remove applied clippings, click on Clippings → go to the command line → Clear.
Cutouts
Define internal areas within the imagery to be hidden. This is useful for revealing specific CAD entities or other topography layers located underneath the main mosaic.
To remove applied cutouts, click on Cutouts → go to the command line → Clear.
Editing Single Images and Raster Images
Single Images are inserted as raster images in CAD. The Plex-Earth mosaic created can also be inserted as a raster image depending on the Terms of Use of the provider selected. You can use local CAD commands to edit raster images, like in this AutoCAD tutorial.
