In this tutorial, we will show you, how you can import draped 3D terrain from Plex-Earth to Navisworks, easily, step by step.
Navisworks is a 3D model review software for architecture, engineering, and construction.
With the help of Plex-Earth, you can successfully combine Navisworks and CAD, giving you an accurate representation of your terrain to complete the analysis of your 3D models.
This can be achieved in a few simple steps:
Step 1: Import Realistic 3D terrain with Plex-Earth
Combine Plex-Earth's Imagery and Terrain for a 3D realistic terrain result, using the Drape Image to surface command. Keep in mind that the imported imagery must be placed inside CAD in the form of a raster image / external reference in order for the draping to be held successfully. For more information click here.
Step 2: Import your drawing to Navisworks
You can now simply open your drawing with Navisworks.
Keep in mind that in order for the draped imaged to be demonstrated you will need to set Repeat Setting to "Tile" in the Texture Editor.
