Transferring License to a New Computer

Transferring a Plex-Earth license can be done if the old computer is broken, stolen, formatted, or if transitioning to a new device.

đŸ“ĸ IMPORTANT!

A standalone license or an activation is strictly one user/PC and is tied to one Windows user profile.
If Plex-Earth is used under a different Windows user on the same computer, it will be recognized as a separate workstation and will need a separate activation/seat.
If you need to use Plex-Earth on multiple machines or user profiles, consider upgrading to a floating license or contact our team for other options.

Guide:

  1. Deactivate the Old Workstation

  2. Download and Install the Correct Installer for your license

  3. Activate Plex-Earth on Your New Computer

Follow the steps below to transfer the license to a new machine.

1. Deactivate the Old Workstation

Before activating Plex-Earth on your new device, you must release the old workstation. This can be done in two ways:

Option A: Via the Plex-Earth Console (if available)

  1. Log in to the Console.

  2. Click on the subscription you want to release a workstation for.

  3. Go to the Workstations tab → hover the mouse pointer over the selected workstation → click on the Deactivate button → confirm the deactivation.

ℹī¸ NOTE: Not all users currently have access to the console. Console access is granted manually. Subscription owners may request access by submitting a request here.

Option B: Contact Support

If you do not have access to the Console, submit a request and we will deactivate the old workstation for you.

Include any of the following to help us locate your license:

  • Workstation ID or Computer Name

  • License key or Activation Code

  • Assigned Email Address

  • Company name

  • Invoice/Receipt

  • Screenshot of the My Account section

2. Download the Correct Installer for Your License

Make sure to install the version that matches your license.

ℹī¸ NOTE: The license key for a specific Plex-Earth version will not work on any other version, e.g. Plex-Earth 2023 license will not work on Plex-Earth 2026 or vice versa.

If you have mistakenly downloaded and installed the wrong version, uninstall it first before installing the correct version. If you are unsure which version is compatible with your license, contact us for confirmation.

3. Activate Plex-Earth on Your New Computer

After deactivating the old workstation and installing the correct version, activate Plex-Earth by opening CAD → go to the Plex-Earth ribbon → My Account → New Activation and paste your Activation Code or License Key.
